In 2012, Anke completed her medical studies at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in the field of neurodevelopmental disorders, in the Cognitive Genetics research group at the Center of Medical Genetics, University of Antwerp, Belgium.
The first part of her PhD project consisted of a phase 2 clinical trial in fragile X syndrome. The second part of her PhD project is about the clinical delineation of the Helsmoortel-Van der Aa syndrome, which was discovered in 2014 in her group.
